A mortar board is also known as a trencher or graduation cap.
Our soft cap wool-felt mortar boards have been designed by us to provide a slightly elasticised fit, easier sizing and a quality look similar to that of a traditional hard crown mortar board.
The slightly elasticised fit means it will provide a little grip around your head. This means you can wear the soft crown mortar board with comfort and confidence.

How to Wear Your Graduation Cap
We show you how to wear your mortar board
Place the deepest part of the cap the back side of your head. Keep the flat top parallel to the ceiling. Your university will prescribe which side of your head to place the tassel.
Sizing for headwear is head circumference about 2cm above your ears. If you don't have a tape measure, use a length of string and measure the string.

*Our soft cap mortars are slightly elasticised so there is some allowance between sizes. If you are in-between sizes, always go for the larger size. ie: if you measure 58cms, we recommend to choose size large.
